Mere History.
HOWDY!! My name is Curt Baxmann.
I teach Texas History at Sugar Land Middle School in Sugar Land, Texas. I was born in Bartlett, Illinois, but came to Texas as soon as I could with my parents. We arrived in Houston on Juneteenth, 1969, and the Chicago Cubs were in first place. One month later, the Apollo 11 astronauts were walking on the moon in grainy black and white images. To this day, I am waiting on America's eventual return to the moon and an eventual manned mission to Mars. CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!! My beloved Cubs finally jettisoned the Lovable Losers tag to become 2016 World Series Champions... FLY THE W!! I have two degrees in architecture--a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University (B.E.D.) and a master's degree from the University of Houston (M.Arch.) with an emphasis in space architecture--and an alternative certification in education from the University of Houston. Architecture was my first career, but TEACHING is what I love doing. I once designed earthbound buildings, second-generation space stations, and manned missions to Mars. Now I design and implement lesson plans to build up young citizens and encourage lifelong learning. TEACHING is hard + HISTORY is essential + LEARNING is forever = MERE HISTORY |
